Marcus is 8-2 against Plano East since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Marcus Marauders will be playing at home against the Plano East Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Marcus is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked fourth, while Plano East is ranked 87th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Marcus gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They never let Plano onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Three seems to be a good number for Marcus as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Mason Einspahr and
Aidan Henle, who scored all three of Marcus' goals. The pair have combined for a total of seven so far this season.
Meanwhile, Plano East's last matchup on Tuesday was all defense as neither team scored a goal. Neither they nor Plano West could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
The win was the third in a row for Marcus, bringing their record for this year to 9-2-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. With that draw, Plano East's record moves to 4-3-4.
Marcus beat Plano East 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Will Marcus repeat their success, or does Plano East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
