It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Roswell Hornets can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the War Eagles on Friday, falling 48-21. Roswell's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Roswell still got an impressive performance from Nykahi Davenport, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 130 receiving yards. Kenneth "kj" smith was another key contributor, throwing for 353 yards and two touchdowns.
Roswell's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Marist, the last time they lost on the road was back back in August. Having now won five straight away matches, they've pushed their record up to 12-1.
Roswell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marist will square off against Thomas County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Thomas County Central: 8.4, Marist: 11.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
