Monsignor Farrell has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the LaSalle Academy Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Back in January, Monsignor Farrell was the victim of a tough 54-34 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Monsignor Farrell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Eagles are ranked 40th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to LaSalle Academy, who are still winless after their fourth game. They lost to Fordham Prep at home by a decisive 58-44 margin on Sunday.
Monsignor Farrell has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for LaSalle Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Monsignor Farrell strolled past the Cardinals in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 66-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monsignor Farrell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
