The Fort White Indians will venture away from home to  square off against the Lafayette Hornets  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Fort White took a loss when they played away from home  on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Union County  a   47-0 shutout. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.
Fort White got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  MATTHEW PITTS out in front who picked up 33 receiving yards and one  TD, and also rushed for 50 yards.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run  X'ZAEVION GIBSON was in the mix  too, providing the Indians with two scores.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fort White was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 205  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile,  everything came up roses for Lafayette against Wildwood on Friday as the  squad secured  a  42-13 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won four contests by 25  points or more  so far this season.
Fort White better keep an eye on  Tywan K Williamson. He was instrumental in Lafayette's win, throwing for 204 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 31 yards.  Parker Hill was  K Williamson's top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.
 Special teams  played a big role in the game for Lafayette, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of  Zamarion Hawkins, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
 Fort White pushed their record up to 3-2 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 34.7 points over those games. As for Lafayette, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
 Fort White beat Lafayette 32-21  in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
