Volleyball Recap: Debbie Smith CTE Academy Takes a Loss

Debbie Smith CTE Academy lost against South Tahoe back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mavericks lost 3-0 to the Vikings. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Debbie Smith CTE Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into South Tahoe's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-21.

Lainie Patterson paced Debbie Smith CTE Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Patterson got some help from Isabella Flux and her five assists. Finally, Ingrid Melgar kept Debbie Smith CTE Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Debbie Smith CTE Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for South Tahoe, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-12.
