Linden has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Weston Ranch Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Linden didn't have too much trouble with Franklin on the road as they won 55-38. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Linden has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Weston Ranch entered their tilt with Franklin with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Weston Ranch claimed a resounding 113-21 win over Franklin at home. Weston Ranch has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Mateen Rafiq was his usual excellent self, scoring 37 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Darrion Lilly was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Linden's win ended a 16-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Weston Ranch, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Linden took a serious blow against Weston Ranch in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 93-23. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Linden was down 62-15.
