The All Saints Episcopal Trojans will face off against the Bishop Gorman Crusaders at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully All Saints Episcopal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, All Saints Episcopal didn't have too much trouble with New Summerfield at home as they won 50-31.
All Saints Episcopal's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caz Franks, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Franks has scored at least 25% of All Saints Episcopal's points. Another player making a difference was Sachit Basoor, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Trinity Christian Academy by a score of 53-45. Given Bishop Gorman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Ryan Richbourg, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Bender, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
The losses dropped All Saints Episcopal to 4-7 and New Summerfield to 3-5.
All Saints Episcopal came up short against Bishop Gorman when the teams last played on Saturday, falling 37-26. Can All Saints Episcopal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
