Basketball Recap: Pueblo County Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Pueblo County had won three straight home games and Lowry Kirkland did his part to make it four on Monday. The Pueblo County Hornets walked away with a 51-44 victory over the Pueblo South Colts thanks in part to Kirkland, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 26 points and seven assists. Those 26 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Harley Harding, who posted six points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Pueblo South lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was J'Rell Williams, who had 12 points. Sergio Salazar was another key player, putting up four points and 12 rebounds.

Pueblo County's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Pueblo South, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Pueblo County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-45 defeat against Pueblo East on the 20th. As for Pueblo South, they have also already played their next game, a 61-59 victory against The Classical Academy on the 20th.
