The Delta Rabbits's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 77-51 defeat at the hands of Manti. While losing is never fun, Delta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Manti is ranked 29th).
Several Rabbits players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaytn Brough, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Topham, who scored ten points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Reggie Frischknecht, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds for Manti. Frischknecht is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games he's played. Hunter Stevens was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Delta has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Manti, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
Delta will be playing at home against Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Emery is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Manti, they will head out on the road to take on Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Richfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
