Baseball Recap: Central York Takes a Loss

Central York fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Red Lion on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Lions, falling 10-4. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wyatt Mahler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central York saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bennett Whitcomb, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Jon Bluett also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Central York and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Red Lion, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
