The Harrison Raiders will face off against the Carmel Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Harrison managed to slip by Avon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Raiders came up short against the Orioles on Thursday, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Harrison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Duell, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Oak Hill a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Carmel also got a great performance from Emily Smith as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, Smith posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, Chloe Junkersfield was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Vietch was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Carmel moved to 11-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Harrison hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Carmel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Harrison couldn't quite get it done against Carmel in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
