Sacred Heart Prep is 9-1 against the Knights since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Sacred Heart Prep Gators will head out on the road to square off against the Menlo School Knights at 6:30 p.m. Sacred Heart Prep will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak dating back to last season.
Sacred Heart Prep can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They really took it to Pinewood for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-38 win at home. With Sacred Heart Prep ahead 38-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Sacred Heart Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Osterloh, who scored 18 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Osterloh scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Straser, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, even though Harker scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Menlo School still came out on top. Menlo School escaped with a win against the Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 67-66. Given Menlo School's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Eagles are ranked 837th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sacred Heart Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Menlo School, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Sacred Heart Prep strolled past the Knights when the teams last played back in January by a score of 57-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
