The Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Taylorsville 82-21. Mississippi School for the Deaf was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.
Despite the loss, Mississippi School for the Deaf saw an underclassman step up: Tyler Brown scored 13 points.
Mississippi School for the Deaf's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Taylorsville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mississippi School for the Deaf and the Pirates will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mount Olive is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Taylorsville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leake County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
