It was a good run, but the Darlington Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Crestwood by a score of 53-51. Darlington lost against Crestwood in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-31 score last time.
Crestwood was led to victory by Saniya Williams and Javiah Martin. Williams dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Martin scored 19 points along with three steals and two blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Crestwood's points. London Vaughn was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Darlington's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Crestwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Darlington will head out on the road to take on Camden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden is on a six-game streak of home wins, Darlington a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Crestwood will take on Marlboro County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marlboro County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
