Sequoia Pathway Academy has not had much luck with St. Augustine Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
St. Augustine Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lourdes Gamez, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Gamez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiersten Ball, who scored 16 points along with eight steals.
Sequoia Pathway Academy dropped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.9 points per game. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, Sequoia Pathway Academy and St. Augustine Catholic will both be playing Chandler Prep the next time they take the court. Sequoia Pathway Academy will host Chandler Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while St. Augustine Catholic will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
