The Davenport Wolves will be playing at home against the Wimberley Texans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Davenport waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Boerne out 2-1.
Davenport was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Frances Vega and
Jocelyn Arreguin, who scored both of Davenport's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 13 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Wimberley can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Fredericksburg with a sharp 5-2 win. Given Wimberley's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Fredericksburg is ranked 448th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Davenport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Wimberley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3-2.
Davenport was able to grind out a solid win over Wimberley when the teams last played back in March of 2023, winning 2-0. Will Davenport repeat their success, or does Wimberley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
