Franklin Central is 1-9 against Center Grove since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Flashes will face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Franklin Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Southport 15-7. The Flashes haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kiley Renick made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Adelaide Hubbard was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Tinsley, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Franklin Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are 14-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Center Grove waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Hawks.
Riley Fuhr tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Center Grove got a massive performance out of Ana Powell, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three hits gave Powell a new career-high. Sydney Herrmann was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Franklin Central's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Center Grove, their win bumped their record up to 22-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Franklin Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Center Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Franklin Central came up short against Center Grove in their previous matchup back in April, falling 8-3. Can the Flashes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
