Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fife). Everything went their way against the Eatonville Cruisers on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-6 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Cruisers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Miles Ducharme was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Fife's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Dylan Hoots was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Carter Christiansen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Fife pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Eatonville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fife will venture away from home to take on Franklin Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eatonville, they will head out to square off against Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
