The Pine Knights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 58-45 victory over Westwood. This was payback for Pine, who suffered a 49-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Crutchfield, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. Crutchfield is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Addly Osne, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Pine's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Westwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine will take on Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Okeechobee at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Okeechobee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday.
