When it comes to explaining why Istrouma lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eryn Brown. Despite the final result, she scored 38 points along with six rebounds. The game was Brown's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was A'tiona Augustus, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Dutchtown now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Istrouma, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Dutchtown will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Charles Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. After both having extra time off, Istrouma and Live Oak will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
