The North Canyon Rattlers waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past South Mountain 69-28 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-9.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Mackay, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Mackay has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Sowunmi, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
North Canyon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points per game. As for South Mountain, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Canyon's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. South Mountain will take on Metro Tech at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Metro Tech has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
