The Bowman Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Lake Station Edison at home by a decisive 59-40 margin. Bowman Academy has not had much luck with Lake Station Edison recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Bowman Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Kahlen Robinson and Janiyah Jackson. Robinson scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Jackson scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 57.5% of Bowman Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bowman Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Lake Station Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Bend Career Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. South Bend Career Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 15 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Lake Station Edison will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
