The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a rough 57-33 loss at the hands of Triad. While losing is never fun, Father McGivney Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while Triad is ranked 112th).
Despite the loss, Father McGivney Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Nolan Keller scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Kleinheider, who scored six points along with two steals.
Father McGivney Catholic are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12. As for Triad, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Nokomis the next time they take the court. Father McGivney Catholic will head out to face Nokomis at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, while Triad will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
