Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Bluffton Bobcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Richland Northeast on Friday, falling 88-54. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Bluffton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Bryant, who picked up 225 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Bryant's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Eitan Golfphin was another key contributor, rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Bluffton's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Richland Northeast, their win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Bluffton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Richland Northeast will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against South Florence at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. South Florence is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
