Softball Recap: King Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for King, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over the Thurston Eagles on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won 17 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Grayce Green was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Cheyenne Malpress was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs.

King's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Thurston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King will challenge University Prep Science & Math at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thurston, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Redford Union at 2:30 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.63 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
