The Carmel Padres will square off against the Stevenson Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Carmel barely beat King City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Padres were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Mustangs on Friday. The Padres might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Tringali made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Tringali was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Beals, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Avery Houston was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.
Carmel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Stevenson came out on top against Greenfield on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run sixth inning. The Pirates put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 11-1 win. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Nadia Patel made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Patel was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Sora Petrocelli and Maria Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Petrocelli got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Hall got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Maddy Dalhamer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Carmel's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Stevenson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Carmel got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Stevenson by a conclusive 12-4 score. Do the Padres have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
