Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Point). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Red Mesa Redskins 73-40. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars who have now won three matches in a row.
Despite the loss, Red Mesa still got an impressive performance from Shyla Pipkin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Pipkin is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jones, who posted 11 points.
Rock Point now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Red Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Point will venture away from home to take on Greyhills Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Point has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Red Mesa, they are taking a road trip to challenge Many Farms at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
