Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's vs. Trinity School of Texas Titans

St. Mary hasn't had much luck against Trinity School of Texas recently, but that could start to change on Friday. St. Mary's will venture away from home to square off against the Trinity School of Texas Titans at 7:00 p.m. St. Mary's will be strutting in after a win while Trinity School of Texas will be coming in after a loss.

St. Mary's is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest victory since February 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 55-27 win over Athens Christian Preparatory Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Mary's.

St. Mary's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Brogan, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Brogan a new career-high in blocks (three). Blanton Mansfield was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Brogan wasn't the only one working in the assists department: St. Mary's was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Trinity School of Texas lost to Regents Academy on the road by a 50-36 margin on Monday.

Trinity School of Texas has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for St. Mary's, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

St. Mary's was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity School of Texas in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 41-34. Does St. Mary's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trinity School of Texas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
