Dalton Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Grantland Fitzgerald, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

On the hitting side, Yorktown got a massive performance out of Henry Tokar, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Tokar a new career-high. Tyler Pruitt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Yorktown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Shelbyville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Yorktown, they now also have a winning record of 8-7.
Shelbyville was able to grind out a solid victory over Yorktown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 11-6. Will the Golden Bears repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
