The North Putnam Cougars will head out to square off against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games North Putnam has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Wednesday, North Putnam needed a bit of extra time to put away South Putnam. They skirted past the Eagles 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Chew, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He has become a key player for North Putnam: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Greencastle waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Mounties 15-4. Considering the Tiger Cubs have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sam Gooch was incredible, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Nathan Sutherlin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Greencastle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southmont only posted a batting average of .250.
Greencastle's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for North Putnam, their record is now 4-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Putnam has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greencastle struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
