Basketball Recap: Joseph City Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

There's no place like home for Joseph City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past the Seligman Antelopes with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 69-54. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.

Leading Joseph City to victory were Eli James and Landon Miller. James dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Miller went 9 for 21 en route to 18 points and seven boards. James is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Jaimen Tsosie was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points.

Joseph City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Seligman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hunter Silas, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points. With that strong performance, Silas is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Manakaja, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

Joseph City is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Seligman, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Joseph City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-62 win against Mogollon on the 21st. As for Seligman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-57 victory against Ash Fork on the 20th.
