AAAA Region 8 recap September 10, 2013
Cade Hancock and Cameron Stevenson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Franklin County. The connection was good for 66 yards, the longest such play in AAAA Region 8 this season.
Madison County scaled the state rankings by moving to 290 from 351 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Red Raiders were able to make move up by beating the Lions 28-14.
Hancock and Garrison Harris gave Madison County a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Hancock threw for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Harris ran for 195 yards. Xavier Duncan also contributed to the rushing game with 79 yards on the ground.

Devin Valentine was the best receiver in the league this week as Lanier topped Oconee County. Valentine racked up 4 receptions for 79 yards. Ashton Barnes helped Lanier's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 68 yards.
Harris was the most successful running back in AAAA Region 8 this week.
Hancock put up the best numbers in passing as the Red Raiders topped Franklin County.
Canyon Cook was a passing and rushing force as Lanier beat the Warriors. He completed 18 passes for 243 yards and also ran for 65 yards.
Chestatee was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to sixth in the league. The War Eagles defeated West Hall 15-14 earlier in the week.
