Tomball extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 12-3. They came out on top against the Tomball Memorial Wildcats by a score of 4-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Regina Amaya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kohen Gonzalez was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Emma Davis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Tomball lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February.

As for Tomball Memorial, they now have a losing record of 9-10. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.

On Tomball Memorial's side, Lauren Coombs was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Coombs was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Coombs wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lainey Matusewitch, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tomball will take on rival Magnolia at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.7, the Bulldogs 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Tomball Memorial is set to challenge their familiar foe Magnolia West at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
