Basketball Recap: Landon Thomas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fayetteville over Autauga Academy

The Fayetteville Wolves lost 78-58 to the Autauga Academy Generals on Friday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fayetteville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Thomas, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Goins, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Fayetteville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Autauga Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Fayetteville and Notasulga will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayetteville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. As for Autauga Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-50 win against Billingsley on the 16th.
