03/18/25 vs Council Rock North | 1 |
Not much got past Max Eagland, who gave up just two hits to keep Hatboro-Horsham off the board. Eagland also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Plymouth Whitemarsh is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Mason Eagland was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Gabe Caucci was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks East can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Souderton 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since May 30, 2024.
Mike Scafidi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Hill Jr, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Plymouth Whitemarsh's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Central Bucks East, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-5.
Plymouth Whitemarsh couldn't quite finish off Central Bucks East in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Colonials avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
