It was a good run, but The Battle Creek Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 31-15 bruising from Kearney Catholic.
Battle Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Aden Pochop and Jaxon Mettler. Pochop rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown, while Mettler only threw for 107 passing yards and no touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kearney Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pete Homan, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Battle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Kearney Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Battle Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kearney Catholic will take on Norfolk Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Norfolk Catholic is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
