In what's become a running theme this season, the Summit Christian Academy Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 73-47 margin over Oak Grove. Given Summit Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Oak Grove is ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Summit Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Mike Thomas iii, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Thomas iii has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Max Rieger was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Oak Grove had strong showings from Maurkalip Riley, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Jaxon Weber, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Oak Grove struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Summit Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Oak Grove, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Christian Academy will take on Clinton at TBD on Tuesday. As for Oak Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Paul Lutheran at 7:00 p.m.
