Edil Ramirez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Derek Bernard also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coral Glades). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Plantation a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Colonels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Tyler Wojtynek looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Caleb Kohnert was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Logan Miller was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Coral Glades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Stranahan's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Coral Glades, their record now sits at 10-3.
Coral Glades' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stranahan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. It's a different story for Coral Glades, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Stranahan's hitters?
