The Howard Lions will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Leonardtown Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Howard fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Centennial 34-7 at home.
Meanwhile, Leonardtown strolled past Chopticon with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 28-14. The win was just what Leonardtown needed coming off of a 27-7 loss in their prior matchup.
Leonardtown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Meade, who rushed for 189 yards while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Meade really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Another player making a difference was Isaac Sirvon eubanks, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Howard's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Leonardtown, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
