After two games on the road, Ontario Christian is heading back home. They will take on The Heritage Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Ontario Christian was the victim of a rough 50-30 loss at the hands of Aquinas. Ontario Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.
Despite the loss, Ontario Christian had strong showings from Marquis Bradley, who picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Hayden Slegers, who threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian lost to Village Christian on the road by a decisive 30-14 margin on Friday. Heritage Christian was down 30-8 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Even if they lost, Heritage Christian's defense sure didn't make it easy: Village Christian's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Ryan Yenokian and his two sacks.
Ontario Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Heritage Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Ontario Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 165.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Heritage Christian struggles in that department as they've been even better at 179.2 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Everything came up roses for Ontario Christian against Heritage Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 40-7 victory.
