The Vero Beach Indians will head out on the road to take on the Okeechobee Brahmans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vero Beach will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Vero Beach beat Merritt Island Christian 56-44.
Vero Beach got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Davionne Stinson out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Stinson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Kamya Riggins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Okeechobee earned a 31-21 win over Clewiston on Wednesday. The win was just what Okeechobee needed coming off of a 75-30 loss in their prior match.
Vero Beach's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Okeechobee, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Vero Beach was able to grind out a solid win over Okeechobee when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 59-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vero Beach since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
