Olathe Northwest has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.6 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Shawnee Mission North Bison, falling 12-5. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Ravens' highest-scoring contest to date.

Olathe Northwest's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2-1. As for Shawnee Mission North, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Olathe Northwest will face off against rival Mill Valley on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ravens 3.6, the Jaguars 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
