On Friday, Heritage Christian came up short against Westside Christian Academy and fell 54-42.
Calvin Cottenden was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for Westside Christian Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cottenden has scored at least a third of Westside Christian Academy's points. Reid Guertin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Heritage Christian bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Westside Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian will take on Christian Community at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Community has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three contests. As for Westside Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome HEARTS for Jesus Christ at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th.
