Providence Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell 54-46 to Christian Academy of Knoxville. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Providence Academy of the 51-38 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last Thursday.
Despite the loss, Providence Academy still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Peters-Daniels, who scored 23 points along with two steals. That was a full 50% of Providence Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Lawrence, who scored three points.
Christian Academy of Knoxville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bennett Simerlein led the charge by scoring 20 points. KP Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Providence Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will take on the at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, they will be playing at home against the at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Providence Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.
