Two dominant guards in Kavi Voglund and Olivia Kim are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Poudre Impalas will head out on the road to take on the Broomfield Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Poudre posted their biggest win since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They blew past Prairie View 52-32. The win was just what Poudre needed coming off of a 57-35 defeat in their prior game.
Voglund was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaqueline Forrest, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Even though Broomfield has not done well against Fossil Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Broomfield walked away with a 46-33 win over Fossil Ridge.
It was another big night for Sydney Deem, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and nine blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Paige Gilpatrick was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
The victory got Poudre back to even at 6-6. Broomfield's record is now 10-3.
Poudre might still be hurting after the 45-20 loss they got from Broomfield in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Poudre, Sophie Christopher (who scored 13 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
