Football Game Preview: Mountain Range Mustangs vs. Boulder Panthers + How To Watch

The Mountain Range Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Boulder Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain Range will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Overland, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Mustangs never let the Trailblazers get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Mountain Range found their leader in sophomore James Watt, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns.

Mountain Range was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Mountain Range didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Francisco Ramirez and Austin Ramirez. Francisco is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Alberto Zavala was another major factor on D, making 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Boulder duked it out with Lakewood on Friday. The Panthers snuck past the Tigers with a 27-22 win.

Mountain Range better keep an eye on Benny Hovermale. He was instrumental in Boulder's win, picking up 54 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 44 yards and one TD. Those 44 rushing yards gave Hovermale a new career-high. Ethan Toth was another key player, having thrown for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

Boulder's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Mountain Range, their record now sits at 4-2.

Mountain Range ended up a good deal behind Boulder in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, losing 23-6. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
