Football Recap: Stearns Skates Past Sacopee Valley with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stearns). They breezed past the Sacopee Valley Hawks to the tune of 62-6 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Minutemen, who have now won six matchups by 30 points or more so far this season.

Despite the loss, Sacopee Valley still got an impressive performance from Maxwell Tripp, who rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Tripp also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Stearns is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.8 points over those games. As for Sacopee Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Stearns does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sacopee Valley, they will face off against Telstar at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
