Tri-County - Rock recap October 1, 2013
Pinole Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 710 from 826 this week, the biggest jump in Tri-County - Rock. The Spartans climbed the ranks as a result of beating Salesian 41-28.
St. Patrick-St. Vincent was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bruins defeated Berean Christian 29-0.
Anthony Williams threw for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 12-31 with 4 interceptions.
Justin Marion was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 93 yards as St. Patrick-St. Vincent defeated Valley Christian. Teammate Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 61 yards.
Brennan Marion's team's Williams and Ivan Hudson have formed a dream team this season, leading Tri-County - Rock in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 1,487 yards this season, while Hudson, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 13 catches for 300 yards. The Vikings' Vince Volpatti leads the league in rushing yards with 457.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Saint Mary's takes on the Eagles. The Panthers are in first place, while Berean Christian is in sixth place.
Saint Mary's took down De Anza 70-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
