The Pawnee City Indians are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Axtell Eagles on February 6th. Pawnee City will be strutting in after a victory while the Eagles will be coming in after a loss.
Pawnee City was handed a 30-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Jets on Friday. Pawnee City skirted past the Jets 41-38. The win was just what Pawnee City needed coming off of a 49-19 loss in their prior contest.
Pawnee City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emalyse Gottula, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Neveah Blecha, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Axtell took a serious blow against the Mustangs on Friday, falling 59-21. Axtell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pawnee City's win bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Axtell, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Pawnee City came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, falling 38-29. Thankfully for Pawnee City, Trisha Mathewson (who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
