The Sullivan Golden Arrows will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Robinson Maroons at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sullivan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
Sullivan unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Edgewood. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sullivan has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cooper Bock, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Aidan McCammon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Robinson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Robinson in their matchups with Newton: they've now lost three in a row.
Sullivan's record is now 5-2. Robinson's record now sits at 1-9.
Sullivan beat Robinson 68-59 in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Robinson's Brayden Childress, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Sullivan to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
